Admission/registration procedures

If the student wishes to come to Ostrava as an Erasmus Student he/she has to check with the home institution Erasmus coordinator whether the home University has an Erasmus bilateral agreement with VSB - Technical University of Ostrava and to obtain application materials. The first contact must be at the home University Erasmus office where students can obtain all the necessary information concerning - study in terms of the of Erasmus programme. All application documents must be sent to the Erasmus coordinator of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava and must be duly signed by the Erasmus coordinator (either Institutional or Departmental) at your home institution. To choose courses available for your Learning Agreement please consult the internet pages of the faculty.
Please choose only courses available for certain semester of your studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (courses for spring semester, courses of winter semester).
Recommended workload for Erasmus students is 30 ECTS credits per semester.

Orientation days for incoming students will be held at the beginning of the winter semester - 13.-15. 9. 2012.

Application documents

Deadlines for submitting forms

  • 15 MAY - for the winter semester and for the whole academic year
  • 30 NOVEMBER - for the spring semester
  • Deadlines for students from countries with visa requirements are 30 APRIL or 30 OCTOBER

Please note that the VSB - Technical University of Ostrava can not guarantee a place in the programme after the deadlines.

Fill in the application documents on the computer and send them to the coordinator of the Faculty of Civil Engineering´s post address. For checking the availability of courses you can send the Learning agreement by email first (to avoid giving the LA back to you or your coordinator to correct the mistakes). After checking the LA you can print it out and send the paper originals with photograph and original signatures and stamp back to the Faculty of Civil Engineering coordinator.

The Faculty does not provide the accommodation, the application for accommodation must be sent to the Halls of residence by student directly.

Before arrival in the Czech Republic, a student has to make sure that he/she has all the following documents:

  • valid passport
  • Student Application Form and Learning Agreement confirmed by VSB - TUO
  • Transcript of Records provided and confirmed by his/her home university presenting his/her academic performance before the mobility period
  • valid health and accident insurance
  • sufficient financial means

NOTE for students: Do not forget to announce the precise date and time of your arrival at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava to the faculty coordinator no later than 3 weeks before your definitive arrival.
After their arrival students can apply for awarding the accommodation scholarship at the International office of the Faculty of Civil Engineering - payment will occur to the students´ Czech bank account.
