Dear colleagues,

on behalf of the organizing committee we would like to kindly invite you to join us for the sixteen annual conference Modelling in Mechanics, which will be held on 24th and 25th May 2018. The conference will take place in the premises campus of the Faculty of Civil Engineering VŠB - TU Ostrava under the auspices of the dean prof. Radim Čajka.

Aim of the conference

The Modelling in Mechanics is a traditional meeting of Czech and foreign academics and R&D researchers which is organized by the Department of Structural Mechanics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic.

At the conference, experts can present and publish their original research and development papers focused on various aspects of mechanics and modelling of civil engineering structures and other phenomena.

The conference aims at deepening of cooperation between academics, R&D staff and PhD students from universities and R&D departments in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Important dates

  • April 30, 2018 - deadline for acceptance of binding applications. Please send your applications by e-mail at carmen.janikova@vsb.cz. The application form is available here.
  • May 11, 2018 - deadline for payment of conference fees. The fees should be paid by a bank transfer in CZK. Instructions and bank details will be sent by e-mails once the binding application is received.
  • May 11, 2018 - the deadline for sending an extended abstract and papers. Please send the extended abstract as well as the full text of your paper at lenka.lausova@vsb.cz.

Guidelines for the preparation of the papers

Fees

Conference fee is CZK 4000 (150 EU), fee for PhD students is CZK 2000 (75 EU). The fees include a conference proceedings, registration package with miscellanies, lunches, refreshment, conference dinner, accommodation and costs of field trip.

Fees can be cancelled by May 11, 2018. The returned amount will be always reduced by bank fees! After May 11, 2018, the payment cannot be returned. However, a substitute person can be sent out.
