The Modelling in Mechanics conference took place in Karlov pod Pradědem, Czech Republic, from May 27 to May 29, 2026. The conference included a Visegrad session dedicated to our project, during which partners presented the results of their research activities related to the V4 project. We also discussed the next steps and the successful completion of the project.

April 2026
We have successfully completed our first article, titled "Investigation of the thermal performance of Visegrad's Socialist-Era Precast Buildings by integrating BIM and parametric design." The article describes the methodology of the proposed optimization tool.
February and March 2026

In early January, the exterior envelope of a selected precast apartment building in Ostrava was assessed using thermographic measurements.

December 2025
On November 14, 2025, we organized BIM Friday 2025 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, VSB–Technical University of Ostrava, where experts from universities and industry prepared interesting lectures in English and Czech. Partners from the Visegrad project also shared their experiences. Thank you for your participation, and we look forward to next year's event!

November 2025
From November 10 to November 12, 2025, the COS 2025 (Conference on Sustainability) was held at Széchneyi István University in Győr, Hungary. The conference included a Visegrad project group seminar, which was also attended by the project manager from the Visegrad Fund. The project partners prepared presentations on the results achieved and discussed the next steps in the project.
October 2025
We are pleased to invite you to the BIM Friday event, scheduled for November 14, 2025, at 12:00 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, VSB–Technical University of Ostrava, in room LPOH108, or online (link below). Starting from 11:00, there will also be a company showcase in the faculty foyer, featuring companies participating in the event.
The aim of the event is to present how and for what purposes Building Information Modelling can be used in both professional practice and academic environments. Experts from universities and industry will share their experience with BIM applications in various areas of civil engineering.
The event is intended for all students who wish to learn more about modern approaches to design, modelling, and management of building structures, or who would simply like to be inspired by current trends in digital engineering.

July and August 2025
From August 10 to August 16, 2025, laser scanning of a selected precast building in Ostrava took place. The measurements were carried out by colleagues from the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.

June 2025
The CECEM conference took place in Olsztyn, Poland, from 2 June to 6 June 2025. The conference included a Visegrad project group seminar, where partners prepared presentations on their research topics and the progress of the project.

May 2025

The project entitled "Thermal Optimization of Visegrad's Socialist-Era Precast Buildings Leading to Sustainable Solutions" has been launched. First, we focus on the creation of a BIM model of a precast building and the differences in national legislations.
