Summary
If foundation structure is exposed to the effect of relative horizontal deformation, development of shear stress could occur in the contact area between the foundation and subsoil. Thanks to the viscous properties of sliding joints, marked decrease of friction in the footing bottom could be reached. Consequently, this leads to saving of reinforcement or to increase of reliability of structure. Laboratory tests of sliding joints were executed only for older materials of asphalt felts and under usual laboratory temperature. Submitted project assumes verification of their temperature-dependent rheological properties also for common external temperatures. Completely new possibilities of active regulating of viscoelastic resistance during the time process of deformation loading could be expected from rheological sliding joint with temperature-controlled viscoelastic properties.
